Surgical removal of the tumor is the mainstay of local treatment of soft-tissue sarcomas. Preoperative planning of resection margins and reconstruction is prerequisite for satisfactory oncological and functional as well as aesthetic outcomes. Preoperative discussion of pa­tients in the tumor-board should also take into account the possibility of preoperative radio-/chemotherapy.
